Bleach:Re Chapter 87. Broken FANGS

- Seichôsuru… (成長する, To grow)

The blade of Rimi’s Zanpakuto started glowing of green light as she lowered it, pointing the ground.

- Jichinsai. (地鎮祭, A ceremony dedicated to the spirit of the Earth)

The sword itself didn’t change much. The handle & the guard stayed the same. The blade however quickly changed it shape to finally look like a double-pronged with the tines forming a U-shape.  The “blade’s” length didn’t change but it didn’t have any edge.

As she gently moved her Zanpakuto from right to left, a calm vibration came from the tines.  The sound was soft to the ear.

- Stay on guard. From now on… It really will hurt.
- …

Lia didn’t react. Her whole body was tensed, ready to assault at any moment. Her anger gave her enough energy to continue the fight despite her wounds.

Looking at Lia, Rimi lowered her Zanpakuto slightly to touch the ground.  A soft vibration happened at the contact of the “blade” with the ground as some clusters of earth & rocks started levitating at the tip of her sword.  

- This is my ability. Riku Kijun. (陸帰順, Submission of the earth)

The Shinigami then raised her Zanpakuto in a circle-shape move as a large trail of mud, rocks & earth followed the tip accompanied by this calm vibration once again.

- This power itself is pretty simple but yet, one of the most powerful ones.  By approaching any surface related to the earth, I can control it at my will. Being the rocks at your side or the ground below you, all of these obey to my command.
- Eh… Is that so?!

Following those words, Lia rushed at her opponent, her hand glowing as she charged her Cero.
Rimi didn’t seem worried in the slightest however as she raised her blade above her head.

- Useless.
- TCH!

With her off-hand, Lia quickly fired her Cero. But as expected, her opponent easily blocked it by creating a wall with the surrounding lands. The cero ended up scattering, unable to pierce through the huge wall slowly crumbling. 

Behind the falling rocks was Rimi’s shape, surprising calm.

- See, I told you.  Useless.

With a wide swing of her “sword”, a large trail of rocks rushed at Lia who barely reacted in time. She dodged the first ones by stepping to the side. She then blocked a few by breaking them with her bare-hands, blood gushing from her joints.

However, the attack was fast. So much that even Lia couldn’t parry them all. In the end, one of the rocks smashed violently against her wrist, soon followed by many others which hit her ankles, her ribs, her head & many other parts of her body.

- HGHN!

In a matter of seconds, Lia was covered by a rain of rocks smashing every part of her body with an incredible violence.  

An instant later, her lying body was almost fully surrounded by rocks of every size. Trails of blood were running between rocks, giving the whole scene a creepy vibe. 

No sound was heard as the whole area didn’t look like a street any more. Only smashed & upturn lands.

- If you understand the difference in our respective powers… Please don’t get up.

Having those words said, Rimi turned her back.  Before she could even make her first step though, she heard a small noise. The very noise of rubble falling to the ground.

- Hm?

Curious, the Shinigami took a look behind her but nothing had changed.  Lia’s body was still buried under a ton of rocks & rubble. Blood flowing the long of her unique arm coming out.

- (Was it my imagination? Then…)

Raising her blade up to her chest-level, Rimi slowly made her way to Lia, ready to deliver the final blow. 

- I shall finish this quickly.

However, at the moment the Shinigami was about to swing her blade, a blast of orange-energy passed next to her head, slightly scratching her cheek.  As a tiny trail of blood came from the scratch, she quickly jumped back to look from where the attack came from.

Quickly she noticed. It was up there, standing of the top of a destroyed building.  Behind the smoke was the assailant shape, looking anything but human.

- Kill…You…
- What is…That?!

With smoke cleared, Perro appeared standing in his state of Resurrecion. However, unlike before, he seemed to have weakened a lot. His skull was shattered at some places. The fur of his legs seemed to have burned off at some part. Even the flame acting as his upper body shrank a lot. Most of the fire had actually disappeared, leaving room to the spinal cord connecting both of the skull & the lower body.

- Are you an Arrancar?
- Kill…You …
- I see…

Raising her blade, Rimi slowly started to rush towards her opponent. 

But quickly, she fell into the trap as she stepped near the place where Lia was “buried”. And before the Shinigami could jump, Lia grabbed her leg with her left arm, through the rubble.

- ?!  
- I finally… Got you!
- Kill…You …

A bright light appeared at Perro’s mouth, drawing the attention of the Shinigami.  Trapped by both Arrancar, Rimi was in a situation where she couldn’t even dodge the frontal assault. And with the blast incoming, she had no choice but to defend.

- S-Shit…
- Not on my watch.

Coming from nowhere, a Shinigami appeared before Rimi, deflecting the attack with his two bare-hands. 

A huge explosion surrounded the whole area as the mysterious person stood up, both his hands rose up, still smoking from the blast earlier. He looked to be a man of an average height with a sleeveless Shihakusho. He also had curly black hair of medium length. 

- Thanks… Shion.
- No need to thank me, Vice-Captain Losa.
- Hmph.

With a bare-smile from Rimi, the girl swung her leg to free herself from Lia’s grip as she went next to the newcomer, Shion. 

Above them on a building’s roof; Perro was carefully staring at them. Hot smoke was coming from his whole body as he made a heavy step forward.

- Who…Are you…?
-  So you can speak. Interesting.

Not afraid in the slightest, Shion made a step forward too. Despite his body looking human, the “Man” actually wasn’t.  His whole body, including his face, actually looked cybernetic. Trails of energy run all the long of his body between each robotic parts representing the many muscles. Being a perfect mix being human & robot, he was what human called an “Android”.

- I am the Vice-Captain of the 12^th Division, Shion Kurotsuchi. 

With no answer, Perro immediately charged another blast of energy from his mouth.  But Shion reacted as quickly, taking a straight position.  At the same time his left palm started shining, gathering energy surrounding him. 

All the Reishi on the air was accumulated on his hand to quickly rush all the long of his arm, forming a faint pattern tracing the circuits beneath his “Skin”, to finally attain his right hand.

- … Energy storing, 12%…

Finally, the Shinigami aimed at his opponent with the palm of his hand. 

- Reikametsu Taihô (霊壊滅大砲, Spiritual gun of total destruction)
